NADIYA

Aims

Aims

The Nadiya project (Nadiya is the Ukrainian word for hope) aims to develop insight into and research about factors that facilitate or impede the integration of Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands and the development of their mental health. Additionally, the aim is to learn more about how the mental health of children of different ages develops their mental health, how these children adapt to drastically different circumstances, and how their relationships with their parents are.

Beyond the significance for Ukrainian families who fled their country, we aim to investigate the short-, medium-, and long-term effects and factors impacting their health over time, in order to compare these to refugees from other countries of origin.

Furthermore, whenever the possibility arises to include Ukrainian participants who stay abroad, or in Ukraine, we will do so.

As our first aim, we want to inform Dutch communities about the health conditions and needs of Ukrainian newcomers in the Netherlands.
